What is the municipal Padrón?
The municipal register or Padrón span> contains the number of inhabitants in a municipality and is very important as the number of people registered affects the economic contribution that the city receives from the Central Government. The greater the number of registered voters, the greater the amount of funds that a City Hall receives for municipal infrastructure and services.

Documentation
For EU residents, identity document from your country and, alongside this, the residence permit issued by the police station or just your passport.
Rented accommodation: rental contract and a utilities bill for electricity, water or real estate tax addressed to the contract holder. Owned accommodation: deed or land registry report or real estate tax for the dwelling. For minors: if they do not have a passport, the same documentation as the adults, except those born in Spain who may use the family record book or birth certificate.

Renewal
Registration must be renewed according to these conditions:
EU residents:- Every 2 years, for those in possession of an NIE (Foreigners’ Identification Number) dated prior to 2007 or who have never received one. nunca.
- Every 5 years, for those in possession of an NIE (Foreigners’ Identification Number) dated after 2007.
Non-EU residents:- Every 2 years, for those with temporary residence.
- Every 5 years, for those who have a permanent or residence card or residence permit.
